About Us
Photographic Society of Asansol is the pioneer organization for propagating photographic aesthetics within the cosmopolitan cultural heritage and hectic industrial activities of the age-old city of Asansol-Burnpur. It is maintaining its honest effort since its birth in the year 1983. The society has the credit to organize 7 All India Salon, 3 International Salon & as many as ten workshops / seminars for the photo-lovers of Asansol-Burnpur.During the last five years five of our members had been honored with prestigious AFIAP distinction, two with EFIAP by the highest apex body of photography ‘Federation Internationale de l’art Photographique’ (FIAP) Paris, France.In fact the name of ‘Photographic Society of Asansol’ is not an unknown to the photographic fraternity.
ASANSOL INTERNATIONAL DIGITAL SALON
The society organizes an International Salon every 2years. It organized 1st Asansol International Salon of photography during April, 2009, first of its kind outside Kolkata, in West Bengal. 2nd Asansol International Salon was organized in 2011 and in 2013 the soceity is celebrating its 30th year by organizing 3rd Asansol International Digital Salon.
